The short version
A founder weekend is eight seats, two days, one room in Prague. You pay once, at checkout, in US dollars, through Stripe. If you cannot come, you can send someone else in your place or move to a later weekend — the notice periods are on the /legal/refunds(/legal/refunds). If we cancel, you get everything you paid back. Digital products are licensed to you as one person, not to your company or your team.
Everything below is the longer version, and it is the contract. If an email I sent you contradicts something here, the email wins for that one booking. Keep the email.
These terms were last updated on the date shown at the top of this page.
Who you are contracting with
withSeismic is operated by [registered company name], registered in the Czech Republic under registration number [company registration number], registered address [registered address, Prague, Czech Republic]. VAT identification number [VAT number, if registered]. "We" and "us" mean that company. "I" means Doug Silkstone, who runs the weekends and writes the material.
Email us at doug@withseismic.com. For anything about a booking, quote your order number. It looks like SEIS-4F9K-2M7Q — the letters SEIS, then two four-character blocks. It is on your receipt email and in your portal.
What we sell, and in what currency
Every price on this site is in US dollars, and that is the currency your card is charged in. Your bank may convert it and may add its own fee. That fee is between you and your bank.
Prices shown as struck through are the price the same thing is or was sold at in another tier or at another time. They are not a claim about anyone else's price.
What a seat entitles you to
A seat is admission for one person to one founder weekend, on the date and at the venue shown when you booked. It includes:
- Two full days in a room of eight seats.
- Your product on the screen, worked through live, rather than a talk you sit through.
- Positioning, growth engineering and pricing worked through with you.
- Lunch and dinner on both days.
- The recording of your own session.
Joining details go out by email, usually within the hour. The weekend starts at 09:00 on the Saturday.
What a seat does not include. Travel. Accommodation. Anything you buy in Prague that is not the lunches and dinners above. Recordings of other people's sessions — you get yours, not theirs. A written pre-read, a report or a teardown is not part of a seat; the teardown is sold separately. Nothing said in the room is advice you are entitled to rely on in the sense described under Limitation of liability.
The three seat tiers
Seats are sold as Early Bird, Regular and Last Call. They are the same seat. The tiers differ in price and in when they are open, and in nothing else. Early Bird is not a lesser version and Last Call buys nothing extra. Buying early is cheaper; that is the whole mechanism.
A tier can be available, sold out, or not yet open. Notes like "Opens if Regular sells out" describe how I intend to open a tier. They are not a promise and nothing opens automatically — a person changes it. If you try to check out on a tier that has sold out or has not opened, checkout will tell you so and take no money.
Capacity, and how a seat is held
Eight seats per weekend. That number appears on the site, in the receipt, and in the refunds policy, and it is the real capacity of the room.
Your seat is held the moment you open checkout, not when payment clears. That is deliberate: it stops two people paying for the last seat. If you leave checkout without paying, the seat goes back on sale — straight away if your browser tells us you have gone, and otherwise within 72 hours. Nothing is charged for an abandoned checkout and no seat stays held.
Very rarely, a payment can settle after the seat it was holding has been released and the room has filled behind it. When that happens the payment is flagged and I deal with it by hand. You will be offered, at your choice, a seat on another weekend or a full refund. You will not be left holding a paid order for a room with no chair in it.
There is no waiting list. If a weekend is full, checkout says so and offers nothing else. The newsletter form on the site is a newsletter, not a queue for a seat.
Sending someone else, and moving to another date
You can send a different person in your place. Email their name and email address at least 24 hours before the start. There is no fee. Two conditions: they must be a founder or operator the material actually fits, and these terms apply to them as they applied to you.
You can also move your seat to a later weekend. The notice periods, the price difference and any second-transfer fee are set out on the /legal/refunds(/legal/refunds), and that page governs if the two ever disagree.
Both are done by email. Nothing in the site does either automatically — there is no button for it, and there is no field anywhere holding an attendee name other than the name you gave at checkout.
If we cancel or reschedule
If I cancel a weekend, you get 100% of what you paid back, and documented non-refundable travel and accommodation reimbursed up to the cap set out on the /legal/refunds(/legal/refunds). You also get first refusal on the next date at the price you paid.
If I move a weekend, you can take the new date or take a full refund. Your choice, no argument.
I will make that call as early as I can. The one case where I cannot give notice is illness, which is exactly what the travel reimbursement is for.
Digital products and what you may do with them
The guide, the cheat sheets, the full course, the teardowns, the Inner Circle material and your session recording are licensed to you personally. You may read them, print them, and use them in your own business, including a business you own with other people. You may not republish them, resell them, post them in a paid community, or feed them into a product or training set you sell.
The course is sold with lifetime access, meaning for as long as the portal exists — not as a promise that the portal exists forever. If I ever shut it down I will make the material downloadable first.
Access to digital products is computed from your paid orders. Refund an order and the material that came with it stops opening. That is automatic and not a judgement about you.
Two of these are real files served from our servers. Most are generated in your browser from the course content, or are a link. Either way they are yours under the licence above.
The Inner Circle is sold as a single one-off payment for a fixed term, twelve months or three months. It is not a subscription. Nothing renews, nothing recurs, and there is nothing to cancel.
One-click purchases after checkout
This is the part people are most often surprised by, so it is written plainly.
When you pay at checkout, Stripe saves the card so that it can be charged again later without you re-entering it. By completing checkout you agree to that. Nothing is charged to the saved card unless you press a button that says so.
After payment you may be offered a small number of one-off extras — on the thank-you page, and later in your portal. Each is a button labelled with its exact price, for example "Yes — add it for $750". Pressing it charges the saved card once, immediately, for that amount. There is no trial, no instalment, no recurring charge, and no charge that happens while you are not looking. Each offer can be bought once, and pressing twice does not bill twice.
If you press one by mistake, reply to the confirmation email. I refund mis-clicks the same day, without asking why.
Your receipt links to your order using an access token — a long secret in the link and in your browser's storage. That token can authorise the purchases above. Treat the link like a password and do not forward it.
Payments and Stripe
Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered inside Stripe's own form and never touch our servers. We store only Stripe's identifiers for your customer record, the payment and the saved card, plus your name, email and what you bought. See the /legal/privacy(/legal/privacy).
Prices are always taken from our own catalogue on the server. Anything your browser claims a price is, is ignored.
Acceptable use
Do not resell seats. Do not record other attendees' sessions or share what they show you — everyone in the room is showing you unlaunched work in confidence, and you are covered by the same expectation. Do not use the site or its API to scrape, probe, brute-force order lookups, or load-test anything. Do not attend under someone else's booking without telling me.
You must be 18 or over to buy.
I can refuse or end an attendance for behaviour that makes the room worse for the other seven people. In that case you are refunded pro rata for the days you did not get. That has never happened and I would like to keep it that way.
Intellectual property
The site, the course, the written material, the templates and the withSeismic name are ours. Your product, your data and anything you bring into the room stay yours. Anything we work out together about your business is yours to use without restriction or attribution.
I may describe patterns and lessons from a weekend in public writing. I will not name you, your company or your numbers without asking first.
Limitation of liability
What you get here is opinion and experience, applied to your business in good faith. It is not legal, tax, accounting, investment or regulatory advice. Decisions you make afterwards are yours.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited. Subject to that, our total liability arising from your order is limited to the amount you actually paid us for it, and we are not liable for lost profit, lost revenue, lost funding, lost data or business interruption.
We do not promise the site or the portal is available without interruption.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic, and the courts of the Czech Republic have jurisdiction. If you are buying as a consumer, this does not take away rights you have under the law of the country you live in, and it does not stop you bringing a claim there.
If you are in the EU, you can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform. Realistically, email me first — it is faster and it is one person reading it.
Changes to these terms
I may change these terms. The version that applies to your booking is the version published when you bought, and I will keep that clear on request. Changes are not applied backwards to a weekend you have already paid for.
