The short version

A weekend has eight seats. Once you take one, nobody else can. That single fact is the reason this page exists and the reason it is written the way it is.

  • Digital things — the guide, the cheat sheets, the course, a teardown, the Inner Circle — refunded on request, no questions, for thirty days. Just ask.
  • A seat at a weekend — full refund up to thirty days before the first session. After that, move it to another weekend or send someone else in your place, free, up to fourteen days before. Inside fourteen days, no refund, but the seat is still transferable.
  • A mentorship hour — refunded any time before you book the call.
  • If I cancel or you never got what you paid for, you get all of your money back. Always. No time limit and no argument.
  • A mis-click on the thank-you page or in the portal — reply to the email that arrives and I refund it the same day.

Everything below explains the reasoning and the mechanics. This page was last updated on 20 August 2026.

Why the seat rules are stricter than the file rules

Eight seats is not a marketing number. It is how many people can put a real product on the screen and get worked through in two days. When you buy, the system takes your seat out of the room immediately — before your card even clears — and it stays out.

So a late seat cancellation is not a returned item. It is an empty chair in a room of eight, and it is a founder who wanted that chair and was told the weekend was full. There is no waiting list to fall back on, because there is no waiting list — the site does not collect one, and I am not going to pretend I can backfill you at short notice.

A file costs me nothing to give you again. A seat costs someone else theirs. That is the whole logic of the two different windows.

Digital products — thirty days, no questions

This covers the guide, the cheat sheet bundle, the full course, a written teardown, a teardown of one page, and the Inner Circle.

Ask within thirty days of the charge and I refund it in full. I will not ask why. I will not ask how much of it you read. There is no measure of "how much you have consumed", because the system does not track one — your course progress is stored in your own browser and never reaches my server, and I would not want to police it if it did.

Two honest notes:

  • When a refund goes through, your access goes with it. Downloads and course pages are unlocked from paid orders, so a refunded order stops opening them. Anything you already downloaded is yours to keep; I am not going to chase a PDF.
  • A teardown is written by hand. Once I have sent you the finished document, the work is done and spent, so a refund after delivery is at my discretion rather than automatic. Before I send it, refund on request like everything else. If you read it and it was thin, tell me — I would rather redo it or refund it than have you recommending me through gritted teeth.

The Inner Circle

The Inner Circle is a single one-off payment for a fixed term — twelve months, or three. It is not a subscription. There is no recurring charge, no renewal, nothing to cancel and no card being billed again quietly in the background.

If you want out inside the first thirty days, that is a full refund and you leave the group. After thirty days, the term is paid and runs to the end. If you signed up for three months and want the twelve, you pay the difference — that is an upgrade, not a renewal.

Seats at a weekend

More than thirty days before the first session. Full refund on request. There is enough runway for someone else to plan travel, so the empty chair usually fills.

Thirty to fourteen days before. No cash refund, but two options, both free and both yours by right:

  1. Move to a later weekend. Any weekend with a seat open. If that weekend is priced higher than the one you paid for, you pay the difference. If it is priced lower, you keep the credit against a future weekend. One move per booking; a second move is at my discretion and usually fine.
  2. Send someone else. Give me a name and an email and they take your seat. They should be building something real — this is a working room, not a spectator sport — but I have never refused a substitute.

Inside fourteen days. No refund. Travel is booked, food is ordered, the room is paid for and the schedule is built around who is in it. The seat stays transferable right up to the morning of the first session, so you are never left with nothing — email me a name and it is done.

Not turning up. No refund, and I would still rather know. Send someone in your place instead.

If I cancel

If a weekend does not run for any reason on my side, you get the full amount back within five working days, and I will tell you as soon as I know rather than as late as I can.

Beyond the ticket, if you have already booked non-refundable travel for a weekend I cancel, send me the receipts and I will cover documented travel and accommodation up to $600 per person. That is a promise I make as the operator, not something the checkout works out — it is a person reading your email and sending money back.

I do not cover anything beyond that: lost working days, onward flights, or opportunity cost. A one-person business cannot underwrite those and I would rather say so plainly than bury it.

If the seat you paid for is not there

There is a rare case worth naming, because the code makes it possible. If your seat is released while a payment is still settling and the room fills in the meantime, the payment goes through and the order is flagged as owed a seat. The system does not fix that; I do.

If it happens to you, you choose: the first available weekend at the price you paid, or a full refund. Whichever you pick, I contact you — you should not have to notice this yourself. I also give you the digital library for the trouble.

Charges made after checkout

Your card is saved by Stripe when you check out, so the extras offered on the thank-you page and in your portal can be bought with one click, at the price shown on the button. There is no subscription behind it and nothing is ever charged without you pressing something.

If a click was a mistake — wrong button, wrong moment, changed your mind on the stairs — reply to the confirmation email that lands and I refund it that day. No explanation needed. That is written into the email itself and I intend to keep it that way.

How to ask

Email doug@withseismic.com from the address you bought with, and quote your order number. It looks like SEIS-4F9K-2M7Q — SEIS-, then two blocks of four characters. It is at the top of your receipt and in your portal.

Tell me what you bought and what you want: refund, move, or a substitute's name. You do not need a reason and you do not need to justify one.

I reply within two working days, and usually faster. Refunds are issued to the original card through Stripe; the money is sent the day I agree it, and your bank typically shows it within five to ten working days. Nothing else gets you the money back faster — a chargeback is slower and more painful for both of us, so please ask me first.

Your statutory rights

Nothing on this page removes rights you have under the consumer law that applies to you. In some places you have a cancellation window for things bought online, and where that window is longer or more generous than what is written here, it wins. Where mine is more generous — and for digital products it usually is — take mine.

If you think you are entitled to something this page does not give you, say so in the email. I would rather sort it directly than have either of us reading the law of the Czech Republic to each other.

Changes to this page

If I change this policy, the version in force when you bought is the version that applies to your booking. I do not apply new rules backwards.
